 ACHIEVEMENT DETAILS

                                                                                                    Shriram Kannan

 15 years old student of Hindu SR.School. He has been playing Table Tennis representing the school, Chennai district and Tamil Nadu state for the past 7 years. He plays in the sub-junior boys category and has several laudable achievements to this name. He owes his success to his coach Mr. M.B. Subin Kumar of the Chennai Achievers Table Tennis Academy where Shriram has been training for the last 7 years of this Table Tennis career.

His achievements for the year 2014-2015 are as follows:

• District level:
  • Semi-finalist in the Chennai District Table Tennis Championship held in January, 2015.
  • Shriram is a part of the Chennai District Team.
  • Chennai District team emerged as the winners of the Tamil Nadu inter-district championship held in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu in October, 2015.
• State level:
  • 1^st State Ranking TT tournament; June, 2015 at Chennai: Semi- finalist
  • 2^nd State Ranking TT tournament; June, 2015 at Chennai: Winner
  • 3^rd State ranking TT tournament; June, 2015 at Musiri: Semi-finalist
  • 4^th State Ranking TT tournament; July, 2015 at Chennai: Runner up
  • 5^th State Ranking TT tournament; July, 2015 at Chennai: Winner
  • 6^th State Ranking TT tournament; August, 2015 at Chennai: Quarter finalist
  • 7^th State Ranking TT tournament; September, 2015 at Chennai: Winner
  • 8^th State Ranking TT tournament; September, 2015 at Chennai: Winner.
  • Tamil Nadu State Championship; October, 2015 at Dindigul: Runner-up

Shriram has won the title in 4 out of 8 state ranking tournaments held this year and holds the position of State no. 1 in the sub-junior boys category. He will represent the Tamil Nadu team as the captain of the team in the National Championship to be held in Kolkata, West Bengal in December, 2015.

Shriram also plays in the Junior boys (Under 16) category. This season he has reached pre-quarter finals 6 times and has been the quarter-finalist in 1 match. He holds the position of state no. 9 in this category.

• National level: Being the top player in the state, Shriram Kannan also takes part in the National Ranking TT tournaments. He qualified for the main draw in the South Zone match held in Chennai in August, 2015. The Central zone match was held at Jamnagar, Gujarat in October, 2015 where Shriram reached the pre-quarter finals. He had also qualified for the main draw in the West Zone held at Thane in October, 2015. He will be a part of several other zonal matches through the year:  North Zone (New Delhi) in November, 2015; East Zone (Guwahati, Assam) in November, 2015 and National Championship (Kolkata, West Bengal) in December, 2015 where he represents the Tamil Nadu team as the team captain.

• School level: He has been representing the school in individuals as well as the team for the past few years. In the S.A. Engineering College state level TT tournament held in January, 2015 the HSSS team emerged Runners Up. In the Velammal Vidyalaya Mini Sports Festival held in February, 2015 Shriram won the title in the individuals category.

CBSE Clusters: Shriram Kannan has a very consistent record in the CBSE clusters TT tournament. In the last 3 years that the school has entered into the tournament, Shriram has unfailingly emerged as the winner and has qualified to play in the National CBSE Sports Meet. This year has been no different, he has won the CBSE Cluster V Table Tennis Tournament held in October, 2015 in the under 16 age group. He will be taking part in the National Meet at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh in December, 2015. The HSSS team consisting of Shriram, Archak (class 7) and Divyanshu (class 7) emerged as pre-quarter finalists in the under 16 category.
